Week 1 - March 22-29th, 2009

Well. The first step of this journey has begun.

I was reading a great book tonight that basically got me into self reflection mode. I ended up realizing the simple fact that I'm not half the man I want to be. Not only this, but I'm probably less the man than I was 3 years ago...

What a sobering thought. So, rather than just realizing it... pulling up the covers and choosing to ignore it as long as possible... here I am.

My goal with this blog is to simply track 52 weeks of SMALL, completey ATTAINABLE changes/improvements that I will make in my life. Rather than setting HUGE, unrealistic goals, I plan on keeping them simple, and do-able. As far as I'm concerned 52 baby steps probably equals one HUGE leap and that sounds awesome to me. Maybe one of my goals down the road will be proper punctuation... hopefully nobody who knows anything about the english language ever reads this haha...

Ok! Back to the purpose of this blog.

Week 1 Goal... (pause to reflect/decide)

Work out for a total of 3 hours this week.

*** So here's the other catch with this whole process. I WILL NOT move onto the next week unless I have completed the goal for the week before. In addition to this, I MUST continue to do the past weeks goals. In other words, each week will compound and eventually I'll be doing 52 improvements each WEEK! Times that by how long I expect to live... and well THAT IS ALOT OF CHANGE!!!!

At some point, I'll post about all the things I'd like to change so I can get some ideas from there. For this week I decided simply to work out. Ya... it seem shallow, but if done, it gives confidence. And I really need that right now, do something that makes me feel stronger (mentally/physically) and I should have the energy to move onto next weeks goal that much easier. Here's hoping anyways!
